Modutherm supplied the heating and hot water solution for the North East Hook Community Sports Pavilion in Hook, Hampshire. The installation was completed by James Liston Building Services.
The North East Hook Community Sports Pavilion is a purpose-built facility serving the local community in Hook, Hampshire. The two-storey building provides modern changing rooms, showers, bar, kitchen, and social space for sports clubs and community groups using the adjacent pitches. As a community-owned and operated facility, long-term running costs and reliability are paramount — making efficient, low-maintenance heating and hot water essential.
Community sports facilities present demanding requirements for domestic hot water, with post-match showers creating high peak demand across changing rooms simultaneously. The heating solution needed to deliver reliable performance throughout the season whilst keeping operational costs low for a community-run organisation. A fossil fuel-free system aligned with the facility's long-term sustainability objectives and reduced the risk of future exposure to gas price volatility.
Heating System:
Hot Water & Thermal Storage:
The commissioned AW290 installation delivers efficient, reliable, and fossil fuel-free heating and hot water for this community sports facility. The combination of cascade heat pumps, thermal buffer storage, and high-capacity hot water cylinder ensures the pavilion can meet peak demand during busy match days whilst operating efficiently during quieter periods.
This project demonstrates how community sports facilities can adopt low-carbon heating solutions that reduce long-term running costs and environmental impact without compromising on performance or reliability.
