Thermal Exchange Heat Pump Calorifier

The Juniper PDC is a heat pump calorifier available in three models with nominal storage capacities of 300, 500, and 800 litres. Each vessel features a Polywarm® internal coating with cathode protection, and incorporates a unique patented thermal exchange and stratification system designed to maximise heat pump efficiency and reduce DHW production time.

Unlike a traditional calorifier, the Juniper PDC's exchange system self-balances only the proportion of heated water that is proportionate to the temperature achieved during thermal exchange. This concentrates heat in the upper section of the vessel whilst directing cooler water from the lower section to the exchanger, increasing heat pump COP and delivering up to 30% higher performance compared to a conventional calorifier. Laboratory tests on the stratification process confirm a 15% reduction in electrical consumption.

Patented thermal exchange system

The Juniper PDC's exchange and stratification system is the result of continuous research and development and represents a patented approach to heat pump DHW production. By self-balancing only the heated portion of water proportionate to the temperature achieved during exchange, it ensures the upper zone of the vessel reaches the desired temperature first, whilst fresh cold water from the lower section is directed to the heat exchanger. This improves heat pump COP by maintaining a consistently low return temperature to the heat source.

Polywarm® coating with cathode protection

Each vessel is internally coated with Polywarm® and fitted with magnesium anode protection, providing effective long-term resistance to corrosion.

Unvented kits available

WRAS approved unvented kits are available for all three models, supporting compliant installation in sealed systems.

Optional electrical immersion element

An optional immersion heater is available, providing supplementary or backup DHW heating capacity.
