Modutherm supplied two Genesis FS 250kW floor-standing condensing boilers for the Lichfield Garrick Theatre in Lichfield, Staffordshire. The installation was completed by P J Bird.
The Lichfield Garrick is Staffordshire's leading professional theatre, situated in the heart of Lichfield city centre. Named after the celebrated 18th-century actor David Garrick, who grew up in Lichfield, the theatre is a cornerstone of arts and culture in the region. The venue attracts well over 100,000 visitors each year across its two performance spaces — a 560-seat main auditorium and a 150-seat studio theatre — hosting a diverse programme of professional touring productions, pantomime, comedy, music, and community events.
As a busy civic venue operating year-round, reliable and efficient heating is essential to the comfort of audiences, performers, and staff alike.
A theatre of this scale requires a heating solution capable of delivering consistent, responsive warmth across a large and varied building — from the main auditorium and studio theatre to foyers, dressing rooms, offices, and public areas. The system needed to deliver high output efficiently, with the reliability expected of a venue that cannot afford heating failures during performances. Replacement of ageing plant needed to be carried out with minimal disruption to the theatre's busy programme.
The Genesis FS installation delivers efficient, reliable heating for one of the Midlands' most active civic theatres. The high modulation ratio ensures comfort is maintained across all areas of the building regardless of occupancy levels, whilst the 108% net efficiency keeps operational costs in check for this important community venue.
